In an odd turn of events. Conor McGregor linked up with Logan and Jake Paul en route to US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington DC, on Monday.

On their way to the ceremony, the UFC megastar and the influencer-turned-WWE superstar were on the same bus, as seen through several social media posts.

Jake posted a photo sandwiched between his older brother and McGregor, writing ‘Inauguration going great.’

The Nelk Boys also posted a clip of the trio in the back of the bus, taking selfies and sharing laughs – a contrary suggestion to their social media spats.

‘I’m gonna kill him,’ Logan jokes in the video after they were labeled ‘couple best friends.’

The Pauls’ mom, Pam Stepnick, is also seen in the posts, sitting with McGregor.

The bizarre gathering came amid talks of McGregor fighting Logan in a $250million boxing exhibition in India later this year.

The Notorious first hinted at talks of the potential meeting with a social media post in December.

‘I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambrani[sic] family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India.’ McGregor wrote on X.

According to a report from McGregor’s The Mac Life news outlet, the fight will happen in 2025 as part of the Visit India tourism campaign.

The clash is set to be staged at the 33,000-capacity Wankhede cricket stadium in Mumbai, with McGregor set to earn a reported sum of $250million (£200m) for his involvement.

Mukesh Ambani is the wealthiest man in India and the ninth richest in the world with a reported net worth of over £95billion.

However, the fight’s biggest hurdle is McGregor’s deal with the UFC, which still has him tied to the promotion for two fights. The former two-division champion is yet to set foot in the Octagon since breaking his leg in his trilogy loss to Dustin Poirier in the summer of 2021.

After recovering and getting cleared to compete, McGregor’s return was set for UFC 303 against Michael Chandler to headline International Fight Week in June 2024. His highly-awaited return against the ever-entertaining Chandler was paraded by a season of The Ultimate Fighter to drumroll the fight.

Unfortunately, McGregor pulled out with an injury and went on to entertain celebrity boxing matches, leaving Chandler and the UFC high and dry.

UFC chief Dana White, a close friend of Trump’s is also in the US Capital on Monday as fans speculate conversations between the two regarding McGregor’s return.

In an exclusive with DailyMail.com, Chandler insisted that McGregor wanted an easier fight despite making a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ about their meeting.

‘It’s a clear path, I am next in line,’ Chandler said. ‘You can’t do a season of The Ultimate Fighter and not fight. He signed a contract, and we had a gentlemen’s agreement. We both put butts in seats and people are going to be intrigued by anything Conor does.’

While McGregor has business to handle with the UFC, Paul also set a price tag for WWE to fulfill if they want him to skip the fight to remain in their ring.

‘$250million (£205m), I’ve got to take that,’ Paul said of the contractual circumstances. ‘If Nick Khan matches that, I’ll stay in the WWE.’

UFC chief Dana White is also in Washington DC and expected to negotiate with McGregor

In a red carpet interview with reporters McGregor expressed his optimism about the future of the United States ahead of Trump’s inauguration.

‘Amazing to be here. I’m very excited. Very optimistic about the future,’ McGregor said. ‘And it’s a good time here in the United States. I was here the last time Donald Trump became president in 2016. And the energy and the response is night and day, which is a testament to how he’s done as a president, his last run, and how he’s handled himself since.’

‘America is the superpower of the world. Long may it continue,’ he continued. ‘We love America in Ireland. I have as much love for America as I do for my country of Ireland. It has much ripple effect for the entire free world, the entire Western world.

‘And Ireland is going through its own issues at the moment and this tenure here that Donald Trump is about to undertake, will have big effects in Ireland.’
