Clippers’ James Harden rips Sixers president Daryl Morey for allegedly reneging on promised max contact – but Philly denies claim in latest battle between ‘The Beard’ and his old team

Now more than a month since his unceremonious exit in Philadelphia, Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden is sharpening his attacks against 76ers president Daryl Morey after calling the decorated NBA executive a ‘liar’ over the offseason.

Speaking with The Athletic, Harden claims he was promised a ‘max’ contract offer by Morey, who ultimately reneged, leading to the deterioration of their lengthy relationship. The two previously worked together in Houston for several seasons before Morey left for Philadelphia and ultimately acquired Harden from the Brooklyn Nets in 2022.

A 76ers team source denied Harden’s claim when asked for a response by DailyMail.com.

Following months of public feuding with Morey, Harden was traded to his preferred destination, the Clippers, as the season began in late October.

Since then, the Clippers have gotten off to a rocky 9-10 start while the 76ers have won 12 of their first 19 games without the disgruntled Harden.
