Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman has found herself embroiled in a heated social media row after mocking ex-Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s geographical blunder on LBC.
The controversy erupted after Braverman claimed to have visited a wall on a non-existent land border between Italy and Turkey during her radio appearance on Thursday.
Vorderman’s subsequent mockery on social media platform X drew swift criticism from Braverman’s supporters, who accused the television personality of misplaced priorities.
During her LBC appearance, Braverman was discussing Labour’s approach to migration when she made the geographical error.
“As a result of that, the numbers fell. It was a deterrent, Italy reinforced its borders by building a wall. I went to see that wall,” Braverman stated on the programme.
She further claimed: “They built a wall on the land border between Italy and Turkey, they’ve got drones, they’ve got armoured vehicles.”

The statement quickly drew attention for its geographical inaccuracy, as Italy and Turkey do not share a land border.
Vorderman swiftly took to X to highlight Braverman’s error, sharing the clip with a mocking caption.
“Suella Braverman has ‘seen the wall’ on the ‘land border between Italy and Turkey’. Jeez….what’s she on?” wrote the television presenter.
She added sarcastically: “Next geography lesson from the Flat Earth Society?”

The post sparked immediate reactions across the social media platform, leading to a heated exchange between critics and supporters of the former Home Secretary.
Supporters of Braverman quickly defended the former Home Secretary in the comments section of Vorderman’s post.
“She means Greece not Italy. And yes, borders do work in cutting illegal migration,” wrote one user.
Another critic accused Vorderman of misplaced priorities, stating: “Wtf are you on Carol… you have some f***ed up priorities there.”
“Anything to ignore the real issues eh? You and @JonathanPieNews got the same memo from the leftist hivemind apparently,” added a third commenter.
