A woman killed when she was struck by a car as she crossed the road was the “kindest soul” and “always had a smile on her face”, he parents have said.

Amy McNicholas was hit by a vehicle on Manchester Road, Bury, on 2 October.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the 30-year-old died five days later in hospital.

The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 50s, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention, and was released on bail, GMP added.
