Buffalo Bills star Alec Anderson was seen coming to the rescue of a stranded driver as the city continues to battle a dangerous winter snowstorm.
The Bills’ NFL playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, originally scheduled to go ahead at 1pm EST on Sunday, was postponed and moved to Monday due to the hazardous weather conditions wreaking havoc in Buffalo.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for much of Western New York earlier this week, including Orchard Park where the Bills play their home games. On Saturday, Governor Kathy Hochul then confirmed that the Wild Card Round game would be delayed after declaring a state of emergency.
And after their playoff fixture was put on hold, Bills offensive lineman Anderson, 24, did what he could to help a driver left stranded in the blizzard as torrential snow continued to fall in Buffalo on Sunday morning.

The weather caused the Bills game against the Pittsburgh Steelers to be postponed a day
Teammate Ryan Van Demark shared a clip on his Instagram story of Anderson, who joined the Bills in 2022, after he tied a cable to the driver’s tire to get their vehicle back up and running.
‘Good Samaritan Alec,’ Van Demark said in the video as his fellow Bills star braved the cold to help the driver. ‘Helping the people.’
The Bills shared a video of Highmark Stadium being covered in snow and whipped by lake effect winds on Saturday evening.
Whiteout conditions made it impossible to see anything in vivid detail – with the exception of a few vehicles and the uprights.
It gives more evidence as to why the AFC Wild Card game against the Steelers got pushed off to Monday.
Buffalo is forecasted to get snow all week long with the only real break in the precipitation coming on Monday afternoon – right when the game is set to be played.
The NFL had been insistent up until Saturday that the game would go ahead as planned on Sunday afternoon.
Around 25 minutes before Governor Hochul made her announcement, the Bills even tweeted out that the game was going ahead at the 1pm Sunday kickoff time.
