A pub landlord has declared that “enough is enough”, vowing to wage war on Labour after he banned the party’s MPs from his brewery.

In fact, Labour MPs are believed to have been banned from a number of pubs across the nation.

Today, GB News National Reporter Will Godley reported from pubs up and down Britain, hearing from disgruntled locals and landlords alike.

So far, around 50 public houses have slapped up a sign declaring “No Labour MPs” to illustrate their disdain for the Government’s latest round-up of taxes.

The business rates’ impact will join up with property taxes which will be served up to pub landlords as well, bludgeoning British entrepeneurs with tax hikes.

Joining GB News, Andy Lennox, who is the award-winning landlord of The Old Thatch in Wimborne, is one of the ringleaders of the furious movement.

“I think we just got to the stage where we’ve done all of the talking,” he told GB News’ Martin Daubney.

He added: “We’ve written letters, countless letters, countless interviews, countless meetings.

“After all of that, the taxes went up even more.

“After the last budget, we went all the way back to basics and went through all of the campaigns and started going through all the writing letters and doing everything we possibly could.

“Even one of our members went to No11, and met the Chancellor. We had a letter hand-delivered to the Chancellor, and still our taxes went up.

“We’ve just got to the stage where enough is enough and we need the Labour Government to listen.”

“Two consecutive budgets that really have put unbelievable strain on hospitality industry. And, you know, I’m a campaigner beforehand anyway.

“And these were some of my members who started putting these stickers up. The backlash to them from some of Labour people was awful.

“So I have jumped in and helped.”

He vowed that he and like-minded landlords will continue listening to one another, becuase the industry has “had enough”.

The GB News presenter then weighed in, asking: “You can see one of those stickers behind your head there. It simply says no Labour MPs.

“There’s a red line through them. So they’re literally on a barred list. What happens if one of them turns up?!”

Mr Lennox admitted he and his allies had encountered issues on that front, but said he wanted to communicate and engage with them.

“We want them to take their anger and frustration that they have with us for doing this back to the powers that are within the Labour Government and actually say, ‘look, I think we’ve made a step wrong here. We can’t say that we’ve taken taxes down when we’ve actually put taxes up’.

“They’ve obviously got to the breaking point. And I think that’s where we are. We’re at the breaking point.

“And if we don’t find a route through this, you’re going to be in a situation where January, February, March comes and you’re going to see masses of closures coming up.”

He continued: “The calls that I was getting from our members and from my friends and colleagues is heartbreaking. People tell me they don’t know what to do anymore.”
