Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Hemming uploaded an emotional post for her 46th birthday which referenced her husband’s dementia battle and the willingness to continue to celebrate.

The Die Hard star was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) back in February 2023 – less than one year after the 69-year-old retired from acting due to his battle with brain disorder, aphasia.

Since his retirement and the rapid decline of his health, the star often keeps away from public events and appearances, leaving his family to continue his legacy and attend in his name.

His wife – who he married in 2009 – often keeps his loyal fans updated with his condition and their family life at home, with the former model recently reaching a milestone of her own.

She recently celebrated her 46th birthday and penned a sweet tribute to her husband who she noted always encouraged her to make the most of every special occasion.

Hemming shared a sweet montage of her birthday celebrations – including a snap showing her kissing her husband – as well as having dinner with the couple’s daughters and friends, visiting a theme park and heading to the beach.

She captioned the post: “Bruce would call it my ‘birthday month’ So we must celebrate! I’m blessed and grateful to have family and friends (in this video and afar) who made it so special for me all month long.

“There’s still a few days left of June and I’m going to ride this baby out till the end!”

Willis’ daughter Tallulah commented on the post and said: “We love you so much! A month always!”

“Happy Birthday Emma! Hope it’s a great one. You deserve so much love and joy!” another fan commented before a third added: “Happy Birthday month! I try to do the same thing celebrate all month.”

Posting an image of the pair kissing, she wrote: “Today marks our 15th wedding anniversary! And today, I can make a choice. I can wallow in sorrow or I can celebrate it.

“I call this the ‘remarkable reframe.’ What I know is there is so much to celebrate. Our union and connection are probably stronger than ever. We have two bright, fun and healthy daughters.

“We have a family unit that is built on mutual respect and admiration. And simply, I just love and adore the man I married. I’m so proud of what we have and continue to create. So, happy Crystal Anniversary to us! #remarkablereframe #crystalanniversary.” (sic)
