The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) said that the bedside crib presented a high risk of injuries because of it being insufficiently stable.
The OPSS said: “The product presents a high risk of injuries because it was found to overturn at less than 30N in the rocking configuration. If a child’s parent/guardian expects a certain amount of force to be needed to push the rocker, it may overturn and therefore the baby may be ejected from the rocker, receiving injuries.
“The product also requires improvement to marking, labelling and documentation. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
“The import has been rejected at the border.”
The children’s shoes were also rejected at the border after posing multiple dangers.
The OPSS said: “The products present a high risk of injuries as the decorative pink strap around the back of the ‘Nadia’ sandal is secured by metal pins that can be easily removed resulting in a small, sharp part.
“If a child wearing the sandals were to pull at the strap, they may pull it off, exposing the pins at the back that were holding the strap in place, causing them to injure themselves.
“As well as this, the decorative bow is poorly attached to the top of the yellow ‘Polinda’ sandal and therefore easily removed. If a child were to pull on the bow, it may fully detach, this may lead to the child then putting the bow in their mouth and swallowing it, causing them to choke.”
