Britons in Jordan have been given some essential new information on the situation in Israel, Lebanon and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) provided a factual update on the debris from ballistic missiles that targeted Israel on October 1 and the reopening of Jordanian airspace.
Holidaymakers flock to Jordan for its unique adventures, including camel riding in the Wadi Rum desert and hiking along the Jordan Trail. It also boasts ancient architecture, stunning landscapes and excellent hospitality.
However, before planning a trip, holidaymakers should consult the UK Government’s advice. The FCDO told Britons: “Following recent developments in Israel, Lebanon, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the security situation could change suddenly.
“On October 1, ballistic missiles targeted at Israel were intercepted over Jordan, including over Amman.

“This resulted in falling fragments and debris in some parts of Jordan. If you encounter any projectile debris or fragments you should move away from them immediately and contact local authorities.
“Jordanian airspace was temporarily closed late on 1 October and subsequently reopened. Flight cancellations, diversions and potential disturbances to Global Positioning System (GPS) signals may occur at short notice.”
Holidaymakers were urged to “monitor this travel advice and other media as the situation is changing fast”.
