Simone Biles is in the house for Wednesday night’s US Open quarterfinals in New York after her success at the Paris Olympics this summer.

Biles, who claimed three gymnastics gold medals and a silver in the French capital, was all smiles as she watched fellow American Jessica Pegula battle for a place in the women’s semifinals against Poland’s Iga Swiatek.

The gymnastics icon will also be in attendance when men’s No 1 seed Jannik Sinner locks horns with Russia’s Daniil Medvedev (No 5 seed) later in the evening.

In an interview with ESPN, Biles said about being at Arthur Ashe Stadium: ‘Oh my god, so far it’s been electric. It’s a lot quieter than I anticipated, but it’s a beautiful atmosphere.’
