American Olympics sprint star Fred Kerley was reportedly tasered before being arrested and charged with battery on a police officer in Miami on Thursday night.

Miami Beach police officers told WSVN that Kerley, who won 100m bronze at last year’s Olympics in Paris, approached an active police scene to discuss his vehicle, which was parked nearby.

It’s claimed the 29-year-old became increasingly aggressive and would not move on when asked to by the officers.

Kerley, who starred in both seasons of Netflix’s athletics docuseries ‘Sprint’ last year, then allegedly got into a ‘fighting stance’ and continue to ignore the officers, who called for back up.

Kerley then resisted arrest and had to be tasered as a result. He was then taken into custody with no further issue.

As well as his Olympic bronze in Paris, Kerley also won 100m silver at Tokyo 2020. He is also a reigning 4x100m world champion and former 100m and 4x400m relay gold medalist.
