Another victory for the Kansas City Chiefs came with a concerning footnote on Saturday, as defensive tackle Chris Jones hurt his calf late on against Houston Texans.
The 30-year-old was listed as questionable to return with a handful of minutes left in the game and was spotted with strapping around his right calf on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking after the game, head coach Andy Reid said: ‘Chris Jones strained his calf.’
When asked about the Christmas Day game against the Steelers, Reid was unsure if Jones would be ready.
‘Yeah, It’s probably too early to tell right now,’ Reid said. ‘We’ll just see how he does here, but I can’t tell you that.
‘I mean, he’s going to get the MRIs and all that stuff, so I don’t have any of that information.’
The Chiefs have had their place in the playoffs secured for weeks but are now looking to lock in the No. 1 seed and home advantage for the playoffs.
After Wednesday’s game in Pittsburgh, the Chiefs round out the regular season on the road to the Denver Broncos.
