Star Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has agreed a new three-year extension with the team worth $193million.
Embiid revealed on Friday that he has put pen to paper on a lucrative extension with the Sixers, which reportedly includes a player option in 2028-29.
‘Philadelphia is home. I want to be here for the rest of my career,’ the 30-year-old wrote alongside photos of himself signing the deal next to wife Anne de Paula, four-year-old son Arthur and Sixers managing partner Josh Harris on Instagram.
‘I love this community and everything you’ve given me and my family. There is a lot more work to do.
‘You guys deserve a championship and I think we’re just getting started!’

Embiid, one of the most dominant centers in modern NBA history and the 2023 MVP, will decline his $59m player option for the 2026-27 season and instead sign his new three-year extension which will see him rake in $69m in the final year.
That contract will guarantee him a staggering $300m through the 2028-29 campaign, meaning his career earnings are set to increase to $514.8m – the fourth highest in NBA history behind LeBron James, Steph Curry and Paul George.
Embiid has spent all 10 years of his NBA career with the Sixers, who selected him with the third overall pick at the 2014 draft.
He has gone on to average 27.9 points per game in his career; the fourth highest of all time behind Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Luka Doncic.
Last season the former Kansas college star also became the first player to average a point per minute (1.03) since Chamberlain in 1961-62.
However, so far an NBA Championship has eluded him in Philly, only making it as far as the Conference Semifinals.

Embiid’s new deal concludes a heavy-spending offseason for the Sixers, who committed $550m in new money. All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey also received a new $204m extension, while Paul George was also signed to a four-year deal worth $212m.
Philadelphia also added free-agent forward Caleb Martin, guard Eric Gordon and center Andre Drummond to its ranks, while also re-signing guards Kelly Oubre and Kyle Lowry.
As well as remaining the face of his franchise, Embiid also enjoyed success with Team USA at the Olympic Games over the summer.
Alongside a host of superstar teammates, the Cameroonian-American star helped USA beat hosts France in the gold-medal game over the summer; recording four points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal in his 11-minute final appearance.
