Donald Trump is expected to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans this weekend between Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
The news was first reported by NBC’s Jake Sherman. Trump is also recorded an interview for Fox as part of their coverage on the day.
It will likely set up a battle in the stands at the Superdome for television airtime with Taylor Swift, who is expected to be there to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
When Trump went to New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the NFL season, fans were dismayed that he was only shown on television once compared to how often Swift is shown at Chiefs games.
Swift publicly backed Kamala Harris at the last election but Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick, endorsed Trump.
He was also publicly backed by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker and long snapper James Winchester before the election in November.

And President Trump congratulated the Chiefs for making the Super Bowl after their January victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: ‘Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.
‘Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season. They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!’
Should the Chiefs emerge victorious against the Eagles, they will become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three straight titles.
The game is being held in New Orleans a little over a month on from the terror attack on New Year’s Day that killed 14 people.
The city has already put in place heightened security measures to keep the thousands of supporters heading to Louisiana safe. Those arrangements will likely be strengthened further on game day now that Trump is expected to be there.
