GB News presenters Emily Carver and Tom Harwood have spoken out on suggestions that Boris Johnson is being lined up for a role in the Cabinet.
Former Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng has urged the Prime Minister to call upon the party’s former leader in what would be yet another shock return for a former PM, the first being David Cameron’s introduction as Foreign Secretary.
Harwood and Carver spoke to Tory MPs, allied with Boris Johnson to learn more about how a return would work in practice.
Rishi Sunak’s party is languishing in the polls and a return potentially “smacks of desperation”, Harwood suggested.
He added that a return for Johnson would be “fireworks”, which in itself, could make such a move worthwhile.
