Andy Lee referred to Ben Whittaker as the future of boxing prior to his fight with Liam Cameron and perhaps he may be right. But, it wasn’t the night he was hoping for on October 12.

Whittaker was handed a split decision draw in the most unusual of circumstances after sustaining an injury that prevent him from continuing on after being bundled out of the ring in the fifth round of his bout with Liam Cameron.

The judges scored the bout 58-57 to Whittaker, 58-57 to Cameron and 58-58 making it a draw. Cameron was visibly frustrated while Whittaker was escorted back to the changing room in a wheelchair.
