A former Strictly Come Dancing star has named a ‘possible’ bottom-two shock in Blackpool this weekend. The hit BBC One dance contest is relocating to the seaside town for its annual special.

Every year, Strictly heads north to bring one of its live episodes to viewers from the world-famous Tower Ballroom that is said to be the ‘home of ballroom dancing’.

It will all kick off on Saturday (November 16) night and will see the eight remaining couples who have been it to week nine of the 2024 competition will perform in the iconic Tower Ballroom in the hope of impressing the judges and those watching at home as the grand final edges ever closer.

As well as performances from the eight remaining celebrities and their professional partners, the latest live show will also feature a performance from Pet Shop Boys, who will open it with a medley of hits as the Strictly professional dancers perform a routine.

The Pet Shop Boys will then be back during Sunday night’s (November 17) crucial results show with their latest single, a cover of Mott The Hoople’s All The Young Dudes, which David Bowie wrote, before the latest couple to leave the competition is revealed and the final seven couples of the series are confirmed for week ten.

Former Olympian and Gladiator Montell Douglas and her partner Johannes Radebe will perform a salsa to Don’t Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston, while Miranda actor Sarah Hadland and her partner Vito Coppola will dance their own couples’ choice routine to Padam Padam by Kylie Minogue.

EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick and professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas will jive to The Ketchup Song (Asereje) by Las Ketchup, while comedian Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell will take on the American smooth to Paul Anka’s Jump.

After both couples came top of the leaderboard last weekend, Strictly fans will see JB Gill and Lauren Oakley will perform a quickstep to Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, and former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and partner Aljaz Skorjanec will perform a paso doble to Torn by Nathan Lanier.

And, opera singer Wynne Evans and Katya Jones will perform a Charleston to Carmen Suite No.1: 5 Les Toreadors by Georges Bizet, reality star Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal will cha cha to I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred.

Now, Ola Jordan, who starred in the dance show as a pro dancer from 2006 to 2015, has shared her thoughts on who could be at risk ahead of this weekend’s episode. “I think Wynne and Montell will be in the bottom two this weekend, or Wynne and possibly Jamie,” she told Mecca Bingo.

But she added: “I don’t think Pete Wicks will be in the bottom two yet, but he’s got a tricky dance so he might not do that well. I’m still thinking he’s going to get votes though so for me, Wynne and Montell or Wynne and Jamie will be in the bottom two this weekend.”

Online bookmaker Grosvenor Sport has priced up the Strictly Come Dancing odds and has Wynne at 3/5 favourite to leave followed by Pete at 5.2 and Jamie at 3/1.

Simon Kew, spokesperson for Grosvenor Sport, shares insights on the Strictly Come Dancing market, including any movers. We’re at the halfway point of the series, and the remaining eight Strictly couples will battle it out on the dancefloor at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. As the competition continues, the harder it’s going to get for the celebrities.”

“Wynne Evans is our firm-favourite to be eliminated Strictly this weekend, priced at 3/5. Wynne has been in the danger zone for a few weeks now and was saved by the judges after he landed himself in the bottom two last weekend.”
