The BBC has been slammed after the Campaign for Common Sense claimed they have been feeding viewers a “steady diet of woke bias.”

The broadcasting giant is said to have published 55 separate stories on the news about slavery, including people reflecting on their historical links to the slave trade.

They are also said to have dramas that embraced issues around race, gender issues and Doctor Who had an alien that corrected the titular character on its pronouns.

Speaking to GBNews political commentator Alex Deane said that BBC is ‘chasing figures’ and the evidence is the fact that they have sacked Carol Vorderman and not Gary Lineker for the same thing.

He explained: “It’s living proof that they care about ratings because they they got rid of Carol Vorderman, who was saying things against the government on BBC Radio.

“They still support Gary Lineker and pay him 1.3 million for saying exactly same thing.

“That’s unambiguously correct. Especially because they said he’d breached their guidelines before and said don’t do it again. He did it again.

“He didn’t get suspended he just stepped back and then was reintroduced because they obviously thought they couldn’t do without him.”

However author Aaron Bastani hit back saying: “This is not a new conversation. Look at Mark Fowler on the the first gay kiss on TV on EastEnders.

“That was risky TV. But it was such a great way of touching an important social issue and also producing great drama.

“I do think it’s not necessarily about chasing ratings partly that, of course.

“But I do think every single broadcaster, publisher, anybody in the media game out there says sometimes you have to take risks and the worry is the BBC stops doing that.”

He argued that the

“The issue of Carol Vorderman or or Gary Lineker saying things on their own Twitter feeds or attacking the government, I think that it shouldn’t happen. It shouldn’t be happening at all

“I do think that with the content they get it right. For instance, there was stuff about BBC News talking to certain people with some zany points of view.

“People in this country sometimes have zany points of view. They should still be represented in a broadcast conversation.

“So I think you want to disaggregate various points here. I think the BBC gets a lot right. I think that radio is fantastic.”
