BBC is the ‘leader in cancel culture’ says Bannon

Steve Bannon has hit out at the BBC, claiming they are “far worse” than Disney when it comes to “wokeness”.

Speaking on GB News, the former White House Chief Strategist accused the broadcaster of pumping out “propaganda” in a scathing rant.

He was questioned on the matter by Patrick Christys, who pressed Bannon on the corporation having a “woke meltdown”.

“I think the BBC is far worse [than Disney]”, Bannon said.

“Disney is a corporation who are reversing their wokeness. They realise it has hurt them financially.

“The BBC is far different. In the 1920s and 30s, it was an incredibly important voice for freedom.

“You see it today, it’s purely propaganda. It’s the leader of cancel culture.

“I would argue that the BBC is worse than major Canadian broadcasters and the US like MSNBC.

“The BBC is probably the most woke and weaponised of all the propaganda channels.

“They are looked at still as the railhead of quality broadcasting across the world.”

It comes after it was revealed the broadcaster has been spending £600,000 on staff members responsible for implementing “diversity and inclusion”.

A Freedom of Information (FOI) request showed the sum which has prompted critics to slam the broadcaster for spending hefty amounts on “woke nonsense”.

The BBC said it employs 15 members of staff in such roles, with some taking up part-time positions.

The BBC requires all of its “suppliers to have a diversity and inclusion policy in place”, Charlotte Moore, chief content officer said.

The broadcaster wants its production teams to be “at least 20 per cent diverse”.

It comes after Disney admitted a “misalignment” between its movies and what viewers are looking for.

A woke Snow White reboot was met with backlash, with the Daily Wire’s Candace Owens saying Walt Disney would be “rolling in his grave” at the company’s direction.
