I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Barry McGuigan was left less than impressed when he found out he would be on a team with Alan Halsall – leaving him to issue a savage remark.

Tonight, Dean McCullough, Halsall and Danny Jones all took on the recent trial where they were voted by the public to take part in The Rank Bank.

Ant and Dec also shared the news that all the rest of the campmates would be coming along to watch the head-to-head Bushtucker Trial – leaving them all very confused.

Speculation in camp was rife at what this could potentially mean, with Coleen Rooney guessing early on: “I think we might be put into teams, so team Alan, team Danny and team Dean.”

As the campmates entered the trial area, McPartlin and Donnelly explained: “Jungle life is about to get very expensive.

“Everyday essentials in camp are going to cost you money and to pay for them you’ll have to use your jungle cash card. You’re going to be split into three teams.”

They then explained that McCullough, Halsall and Jones would be the first members of each team, with them each having a different colour cash card.

As the rest of the campmates sat on the bleachers, they were then instructed to pick a cash card at random from a bag, with the colour determining what team they were on.

Rooney was first to choose and was put on the pink team with McCullough, McGuigan was second and found out he was on the blue team was Halsall.

Pulling out the coloured lanyard, he quipped: “I don’t want to be with him,” before bursting out with laughter.

Halsall looked depressed at the comment and soon hit back: “Someone swap with him I don’t want him now!”

The complete teams saw McCullough, Rooney, Jane Moore and Melvin Odoom on the pink team, Halsall, McGuigan, Richard Coles and Tulisa Contostavlos on the blue team, with Danny Jones, GK Barry, Maura Higgins and Oti Mabuse on the orange team.

Fans of the show were quick to comment on the quip from McGuigan and took to their X account to laugh at the moment.

One penned: “Oh I’m with him LOL poor Alan #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity.”

“Barry: I’m actually dead,” another quipped before someone else added: “Barry snubbing Alan in front of him is GOLD!”

A fourth wrote: “BARRY NOT WANTING TO BE WITH ALAN! This man is TV Gold!” (sic)

After learning of their allocated teams, they were then told they would each be responsible for their team’s money, with each team having their own bank account and cash card.

The money would be needed to pay for daily essentials around the camp, as well as food for their dinner.
