Asda drinks pulled from shelves over dangerous contamination

Asda has shared a warning for anyone who has been shopping with the supermarket chain.

This comes as a number of juices have already been recalled.

Asda and Calypso products have been recalled as the straws may be dangerous to use.

Asda has added two more batches to an ongoing recall for various drinks.

More drinks have been recalled

ASDA

A statement said: “Asda is conducting a precautionary recall on Asda brand apple and pear juice drink due to potential metal contamination in the straws.

“The affected codes are shown in the table above. No other Asda brand products are known to be affected.

“If you have purchased any of the products and codes listed above, please bring them back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.

“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact: Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101.”

Asda shoppers are urged to check for the drinks

The Food Standards Agency added the drinks are unsafe to consume.

It said: “Refresco Beverages UK Limited is recalling various juice drinks because the straws may be contaminated with metal, making them unsafe.

“If you have bought the above products, do not use them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.

“If you would like any further information, please contact the relevant brand’s customer service lines listed on the point of sale recall notices.”
