Ariana Grande is one of the many A-list music artists who appear on Charli XCX’s Brat remix album.
The 31-year-old Thank U, Next hitmaker — who hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend — joined the 32-year-old British singer on her song Sympathy Is A Knife, putting her unique touch on it.
On the track, loosely title Issa Knife, Grande addresses ‘mean fans’ and critics in her verse on the upbeat dance tune.
‘It’s knife when you know they’re counting on your mistakes / It’s knife when you’re so pretty, they think you must be fake,’ she croons to kick off her first bar.
The former Disney child star goes on to sing, ‘It’s a knife when they dissect your body on the front page / It’s a knife when they won’t believe you, why should you explain?’

Elsewhere in her snippet on the recording, Ariana laments: ‘It’s a knife when the mean fans hate the nice fans.’
And she later quips, ‘It’s a knife when somebody says they like the old me and not the new me / And I’m like “who the f**k is she?”‘
For her part, Charli — whose Brat project in her most commercially successful — discusses the being ‘on top’ for the first time in her career.
Singing from her perspective, she states, ‘It’s a knife when you’re finally on top / ‘Cause logically, the next step is they wanna see you fall to the bottom.’
Tying in some fun marketing for Ariana’s upcoming multi-part Wicked musical film, the two songstresses recreated the movie’s promotional poster.
Through an editing process, Charli — whose full name is Charlotte — was made to have green skin and red lips along with a black with hat as she appeared as the character Elphaba.
It comes after Grande and her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo recently replicated the original graphic design for the Broadway musical.
XCX’s new album iteration is titled Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat and features other musicians including Billie Eilish, Bb Trickz, Bon Iver, Addison Rae, and more.

Grande has faced an ongoing deluge of questions and comments about her evolving appearance in recent years.
Most recently, she denied undergoing plastic surgery while partaking in Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test series in September.
When Erivo asked whether or not the pop star has had a boob job or a nose job, she answered, ‘No,’ with the detector confirming she was telling the truth.
And she candidly noted, ‘I’ve had fillers in various places and Botox, but I stopped, like, four years ago. And that is the extent.’
