Angry Ginge said he had really missed football and coaching his team while out in the Australian jungle

Angry Ginge has said he “can’t put into words how good it is to be back” at his football club, after returning victorious from the I’m a Celeb jungle.

The content creator, whose real name Morgan Burtwistle, signed autographs for fans on his return to coaching Winton Wanderers U18s team in his home town of Eccles, Greater Manchester.

“I’ll always live my life by the saying ‘never forget where you came from’,” he said, adding he had really missed football and his club.

The winner of series 25 of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! attended a match held at Daisy Hill FC in Westhoughton, Bolton.

The newly crowned King of the Jungle said to win the ITV show “not only for Manchester but for everyone that’s supported me along the way, it’s amazing”.

“Before going into it, I knew my presence online but since I got back, seeing the love and people recording their reactions and people getting emotional when I won, it was like, wow,” he said.

He said he had planned to go to the game wearing his jungle crown but it was “on the verge of dying” due to it being made from flowers.

“It’s in the fridge at the minute,” he said.

The Twitch streamer, born in the Winton area, said he had really missed watching the football and “being at Winton Yanited”, adding he was glad “we won today as that would have ruined my weekend”.

While signing an autograph for a young fan at the club, another shouted “all hail King Ginge” and he turned to acknowledge them and laughed.

He affectionately renamed the club Winton Yanited in a nod to his trademark online catchphrase, Yanited.

Angry Ginge sponsored Daisy Hill FC’s stadium in July, now called The Ginge Power Stadium, on the back of his online success.

Winton Wanderers FC chair Lee Egan said he was “an inspiration for a lot of young kids”, adding: “We’re all Team Ginge.”

Vice-chair Sarah Wolff said Angry Ginge had put “Eccles on the map” and was an “icon” to local children.
