Angela Scanlon’s chances of remaining in Strictly Come Dancing have been hit with a rather brutal blow – despite bagging her best score of the series in Blackpool thanks to her Argentine Tango.
The 39-year-old has managed to impress week after week so far this series and has managed to avoid the dreaded dance-off throughout.
She’ll be hoping to continue this trend in Week 10 and alongside Carlos Gu, Scanlon will be taking on the Cha Cha to Gloria Gaynor classic I Will Survive.
However, while some Strictly fans think they’ve “worked out” who’ll land in the Week 10 dance-off, Scanlon’s chances of avoiding it don’t look promising.
In fact, according to new data obtained by GB News, Scanlon is the most likely contestant set for the exit doors come Sunday evening.
Spokesperson for bettingsites.co.uk, Neil Roarty, told GB News: “As we approach the crucial phase of this season’s Strictly Come Dancing, Angela Scanlon is currently positioned as the frontrunner for elimination this Sunday, despite an impressive score of 38 points last week.

“Scanlon is currently trading at 11/8 to be the ninth contestant to depart the show, while Annabel Croft faces a similar challenge with odds of 7/4, both needing a standout performance to secure their spot among the final five.
“If Angela and Annabel manage to survive into week 10, the competition intensifies for previous outright winners Nigel Harman (5/1) and Bobby Brazier (11/2), who will anxiously be monitoring their standing in the competition.”
Lee Astley, Head of News for LuckyBlock.com, also said of Scanlon’s chances to GB News: “Angela is favourite (6/4) to depart but after a very encouraging 38 scored last week there may be some hope she can save herself with another strong effort.
“Ellie and her dance partner Vito wowed audiences with a near-perfect 39 doing the Charleston last week, and she continues to shorten up in the outright betting.”

This is the first time this series Scanlon has been positioned as the most likely star to be eliminated with bookmakers.
Ellie Leach and Layton Williams, who were tied at the top of the Blackpool leaderboard, appear to be safe as neither have been individually priced for the chop.
Scanlon will therefore have to pull out all the stops in order to defy the odds and avoid a similar fate to that of her namesake Angela Rippon last week.
The 79-year-old bowed out of the competition after the judges unanimously decided to save Brazier in their dance-off.
Rippon has already seen off Adam Thomas and Krishnan Guru-Murthy in two previous dance-offs but Blackpool was just one step too far.
Support and tributes have flooded in for Rippon ever since – including from former Strictly star Amanda Abbington – after she left pro partner Kai Widdrington in tears with her farewell speech.

Soon after and once he’d regained his composure, Widdrington took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt tribute of his own to Rippon following their exit.
“What an amazing 10 weeks with the legend that is @theangelarippon,” Widdrington penned. “We promised we’d be ‘Rippon’ up the dance floor and we did.
“Thank you to all the people that supported our journey and a huge thanks to Angela – you never complained once despite the injuries, the brutal training regime and the increasingly complex routines.
“It was my pleasure and a privilege to dance with you, you taught us all that age really is just a number. We’ll see you all for the live shows in January and I promise, we might be out but we’ll still keeeeeeeep dancing.” (sic)
Rippon will soon return to the dancefloor as part of the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour in 2024.
