Short on a good book to read this Christmas? Amazon has a very affordable fix.

You can subscribe to its popular Kindle Unlimited subscription for just 99p, unlocking access to millions of Kindle books, as well as audiobooks and digital magazines to download and read on any device. Amazon includes some of the bestselling books, including award-winning fiction and must-read non-fiction, with its Kindle Unlimited service.

Amazon usually charges £9.49 per month for Kindle Unlimited, making it one of its most expensive subscriptions — it’s pricier than Amazon Prime, which includes unlimited next-day delivery on thousands of items and Prime Video access. But if you subscribe before January 5, you can secure three months for just 99p. Yes, really.

Cancel anytime, and you won’t spend less than £1 for three months of access to the complete catalogue.

Every eBook included with Kindle Unlimited can be downloaded and accessed from your iPhone, iPad, Kindle ereader, Android phone or tablet. You can switch between any of these gadgets — handy if you find yourself with a wait, but you’ve left your tablet at home — with reading progress synchronised between all of your devices.

Similar to Netflix, Kindle Unlimited offers a rotating selection of millions of ebooks, magazines, and audiobooks from Amazon’s enormous ebook catalogue. Over the coming months, you’ll likely see new bestsellers and page-turners added to the selection that you can download and read.

Download and read millions of Kindle books on ANY device for 99p

For a limited time, Amazon is offering three months of Kindle Unlimited for 99p. This subscription is like Netflix for books, and usually costs £9.49 per month — making it one of the most expensive services Amazon offers. That’s what makes this price crash such an incredible deal!

Cancel anytime during the three months and pay just 99p to download and read hundreds of thousands of bestsellers, non-fiction, travel guides, recipe books, and much more across all of your devices

Kindle Unlimited

The Housemaid, the 2022 psychological thriller novel by Freida McFadden, now a film in multiplexes worldwide starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, is available on Kindle Unlimited. Amazon has also negotiated the rights to the complete Harry Potter series on eBook as part of the subscription.

Other bestsellers from authors like Colleen Hoover, Matt Brolly, Amanda Prowse, Dean Koontz, Teresa Driscoll, and Melinda Leigh all feature in the catalogue, which is regularly refreshed with titles that everyone is talking about. Magazines like Cosmopolitan, Grazia, BBC Good Food Magazine, OK!, and Autocar are also included, with new issues available to download and read across any device with the Kindle app.

AMAZON PRESS OFFICE

Given that each of these titles can command a £4.99 price tag on Kindle, it’s no surprise that — outside of this current Christmas discount — the Kindle Unlimited subscription doesn’t come cheap. At £9.49 per month, Kindle Unlimited is one of the pricier subscriptions available from Amazon, which is one of the reasons this is such an incredible saving.

In comparison to Kindle Unlimited, its Prime Video service, which rivals the likes of Netflix and Disney+ costs just £5.99. If you can quickly, you can secure three months of Kindle Unlimited for just 99p.

This discount is only available for the next few days but will allow you to continue reading from a selection of millions of books until April 2026 comes around. This 99p deal offers a saving of £27.48 compared with the standard cost of Kindle Unlimited for that duration.

Cancel any time before the end of the three months and you’ll pay nothing more. If you don’t want to spend 99p, then you can sign up for a 30-day free trial to access everything included with Kindle Unlimited at no cost.

Several of Amazon’s best-selling Kindle ereaders boast a water-resistant case, so you can read in the bath, on the beach, or in a swimming pool without any worry about damaging the device

If you’d rather rest your eyes, Kindle Unlimited includes a limited number of audiobooks to stream from your car infotainment system, Bluetooth speakers, iPhone or Android apps.

Several Kindle models, like the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Oasis, support audio files, so you can connect a pair of wireless earbuds to listen to audiobooks on your ereader.

If you’ve recently taken out a free trial of Kindle Unlimited, you won’t be eligible for the latest 99p promotion. You can check whether your account qualifies for the discount here.

If you can secure the 99p subscription, keep in mind that Amazon will automatically renew your subscription at full price unless you cancel it at some point during the three months. You don’t need a dedicated Kindle ereader to take advantage of Kindle Unlimited.

The Netflix-like subscription for books and magazines is available on any phone or tablet with access to the Kindle app, including the iPad, Android tablets, and Amazon’s own Fire Tablets.

Of course, Kindle ereaders do support the subscription service. If you’re looking to upgrade to a new model, Amazon has slashed the price of its first-ever colour e-ink device, the Kindle Colorsoft. Designed to spotlight graphic novels, non-fiction and children’s books, or even just the cover of your favourite page-turner in stunning colour, this e-reader ships with a next-generation 7-inch backlit e-ink screen with adjustable warm light.

It launched at £239.99, but has dropped to £164 — the lowest-ever price.
