I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! wrapped up earlier this month, with McFly star Danny Jones crowned this year’s King of the Jungle.

Coronation Street stalwart Alan Halsall, renowned for playing Tryone Dobbs on the ITV soap, also enjoyed a successful stint Down Under for the reality series, and one person in particular was on his mind throughout.

Halsall’s young daughter, Sienna was at the forefront of his thoughts throughout his time on the show, and the youngster was supporting her dad from home.

The 42-year-old actor shares his daughter with ex-wife and former Coronation Street co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson, 41.

The couple were married from 2009 to 2018, but are still in each other’s lives in order to be there for Sienna.

Hudson explained her reasons for getting behind Halsall while he starred in the series, despite him being her ex.

The actress is now happily with Lewis Devine, but the whole family supported Halsall while he featured in the beloved annual show.

Appearing on a televised interview on Thursday, Hudson reflected on why it was important to back Halsall in spite of their history.

When asked how Sienna felt about watching her dad on screens each night, Hudson replied: “She loved it – really, really proud.”

“And obviously it’s a different situation you know, we’re not together,” she continued.

“And I’m with Lewis and we spoke about, ‘What do we do in this situation?’ because he’s away, he’s in Australia,” she went on during a chat on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

“So we thought it was important to be there for Sienna to sit down and watch it with her, so she could enjoy it with somebody – as well and the highs and lows, we were there for her,” she explained.

The mother-of-two reiterated: “So she loved it, really proud – he did great.”

Not long after the series launched and Halsall made his debut on the show though, Hudson had to set the record straight after rumours about her former relationship spiralled.

Claims had suggested the actress would be voting for her ex to endure the gruelling Bushtucker Trials, something she was quick to dismiss.

Taking to Instagram, she posted a video stating: “Just wanted to put the record straight,” she penned, before stating in a video: “First of all, me and my ex have been divorced seven years.

“I actually can’t believe it’s a topic of conversation because it’s pretty boring.”

She continued: “We share Sienna 50/50. We communicate. She’s a happy kid. We get on great.”

“We have to work out weekends – what we’re swapping, certain days he wants, certain days I want.

“We’re constantly communicating because it’s important for Sienna and to plan what we’re doing.”
