Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has revealed he received special meal arrangements during his time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! due to being vegetarian.
Halsall was eliminated from the show in a double eviction alongside internet personality GK Barry, just days before the final.
McFly star Danny Jones went on to be crowned King of the Jungle, beating Coleen Rooney and Reverend Richard Coles in the finale.
During his three-week stint in the jungle, Halsall initially made an impact by winning the first challenge alongside Tulisa Contostavlos to become camp leader.
He later maintained a relatively low profile in camp, with his unexpected clash with Dean McCullough being one of the few dramatic moments during his stay.
Some viewers criticized Halsall’s journey to sixth place, suggesting he hadn’t contributed enough to warrant his position.

The actor, known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the long-running soap, recently disclosed in a recent Instagram Q&A that show bosses provided him with vegetarian alternatives to the standard camp meals.
The behind-the-scenes arrangement was never shown to viewers during the 2024 series, where Halsall made it to sixth place before being eliminated.
When asked by a fan if he “gave up being veggie whilst in the jungle,” Halsall responded: “No they send a veggie equivalent.
“Generally something very bland, plain tofu… etc.”

The special dietary arrangements were made to accommodate Halsall’s lifelong vegetarian lifestyle.
While other contestants received the standard camp meals, often featuring various meats won through Bushtucker Trials, the soap star was provided with meat-free alternatives.
These special meal arrangements were kept off-camera, with viewers unaware of the behind-the-scenes accommodations until Halsall’s recent social media revelation.
After returning from Australia, Halsall shared an emotional reunion with his 11-year-old daughter Sienna, whom he shares with ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.
The actor admitted it was “impossible to put into words” how excited he was to see Sienna-Rae after weeks apart in the jungle.
Before entering the show, Halsall had expressed concerns about their separation, telling campmates: “That’s going to be really difficult.
“She has found the idea of me going difficult. It is only in the last two weeks or so that she has come around to the idea.”
“We never spend more than two weeks apart,” he added, acknowledging his emotional nature when it comes to his daughter.
