Part of a major road has been closed after a tanker overturned and caused a fuel spill.

Suffolk Police said the incident happened at the Copdock interchange – where the A12 meets the A14 – at about 04:30 BST.

National Highways said, external the A12 was closed northbound between junction 32B and the A14 due to a “significant fuel spill”.

In a post on X, Suffolk Police said, external the Copdock roundabout was also shut but the A14 remained open.

Emergency services are at the scene and motorists have been advised to find alternative routes.
