Dr Mosley said: “Exercise less, but more often.
“Break your exercise up into bite-sized chunks, perhaps three lots of 10 minutes.”
He said short but frequent workouts could even be more beneficial for health.
“The single reason most people cite for not exercising is lack of time,” the expert wrote on Instagram.
“It certainly can be tricky to find the two and a half hours a week of moderately intense activity you need to meet the recommended guidelines. So why not try some ‘exercise snacks’.
“Research shows that peppering them throughout the day can be just as good – if not better – for your health.”
Combining exercise and diet is the best way to see weight loss results.
A recent study published in the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention explained the benefits of regularly working out when trying to achieve a healthy weight.

It said: “When losing weight, more physical activity increases the number of calories your body uses for energy. Using calories through physical activity, combined with reducing the calories you eat, creates a calorie deficit that results in weight loss.
“Most weight loss occurs from decreasing caloric intake.”
If changing your diet, Dr Mosley shared the four food groups worth cutting.
He suggested ditching sugar, sugary treats, drinks and desserts from your diet plan.
