While hair loss is natural to a degree, having thinning locks is still disheartening. Luckily, there are some ways to minimise this.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, a doctor shared tips you can use to improve your locks.
Dr Viktoryia Kazloskaya, a board-certified dermatologist and the founder of Dermatology Circle PLLC in New York City, shared her advice and said you don’t need to worry about the shampoo you use as much as you may think.

Using the right hair care products is important, but other habits may make a bigger difference

The doctor advised those who notice rapid and dramatic hair loss should seek advice from a dermatologist.
More generally, there are some habits you may want to change for better results. The doctor told men and women worried about their hair to “look into your diet and lifestyle”.
She said: “Strict diets or rapid weight loss can contribute to shedding, so ensure your meals are rich in protein and nutrient-dense foods.”
The vitamins and nutrients in your food can benefit hair and you can ensure you get enough by eating a balanced, healthy diet.
Protein is also important. The National Library of Medicine said: “Protein malnutrition, such as in kwashiorkor and marasmus, can result in hair changes that include hair thinning and hair loss.”
Good ways to add protein to your diet include eating more meat, fish, beans, tofu, eggs and dairy.
Hair products also come under fire when trying to improve your barnet, but Dr Kazloskaya said you may not need to spend too much time worrying about these.
Avoid tight hairstyles

Instead, opt for a gentle approach overall to how you care for your hair, from the products you use to the hairstyles you adopt.
The doctor explained: “Contrary to popular myths, shampoos and hair products rarely cause hair loss.
“But gentle care is crucial – avoid tight hairstyles, brush gently, condition thoroughly, and minimise heat styling.”
