Meghan Markle’s fans have slammed Princess Kate for “copying” the Duchess of Sussex’s dress.
The Princess of Wales attended the Royal Variety Performance on Thursday evening wearing a blue cape dress from the brand Safiyaa.
However, fans of the Duchess of Sussex were quick to point out that Meghan wore a very similar dress from the same brand five years ago.
During a royal tour to Fiji when still a working royal, the duchess wore a Safiyaa Ginkgo Cape Gown.

The dress is still available to purchase for a whopping £1,095.
Its description says: “Full-length fitted short sleeve cape dress with a long tailed back with a deep split and covered buttons, all in bluette stretch heavy crepe.”
Meghan’s fans took to X to post side-by-side splits of the two royal women wearing a blue cape dress from the same brand.
One said: “We stand with Meghan, forever.” Another added: “Meghan in her iconic Safiyaa Cape Dress.”

Similarly, a royal watcher claimed: “Kate copies Meghan and gets praised. Utterly disgusted seeing her in Safiyaa‘s cape dress today.”
One fan believes Kate wore the dress to send a “message” after the fallout from Omid Scobie’s controversial book, Endgame.
They wrote: “Controversial opinion/conspiracy theory alert: The dress is from Safiyaa.
“Go to Google and search ‘Safiyaa Meghan dress’. I think it’s a delicate message sent to the right recipient through a beautiful dress.”

A Sussex supporter claimed that this dress created one of Meghan’s “most memorable maternity style moments”, as she was pregnant with Prince Archie at the time.
However, Kate’s loyal fans came to her defence as her outfit was criticised.
One wrote: “People are in meltdown because Catherine wore a Safiaa gown. Can they honestly stop.”
Another added: “And what’s their problem exactly? Anyway, Princess Catherine looks stunning.”
Similarly, someone said: “I actually love that she wore a Safiyaa dress. She gave a masterclass on how to actually pull it off instead of being a clothes hanger.”
