The Duchess of York is “obviously scared stiff” following her skin cancer diagnosis, according to Royal biographer Angela Levin.
This week, King Charles and the Princess of Wales announced that they are seeking hospital treatment for different conditions.
She told GB News: “People have said that she’s actually handling it very well. But she did say on television that she kept waking up at four o’clock in the morning, thinking that she had cancer that had gone somewhere else and she must call the doctor straight away.
“So, she’s obviously scared stiff but we do hope that it’s been done early enough because these little bumps can go all over the body and it can be very difficult for you.”

In a discussion during Breakfast with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster, she continued: “I think what’s very important with this is her two daughters adore her and they both work with cancer charities.
“They will know the feeling that, not just their mother, but what somebody who has got cancer will feel and they will be wonderful to her.
“I mean all the breakup of the marriage and all those things, and the difficulties that the children have faced in the family – they do love their mother and she’s a very good mother to them.”
Asked about the Princess of Wales, she said: “It’s very unusual to stay in hospital for 14 days.

“If at home, you’ve got the comfort that you could have with someone coming in and looking after you.
“They could get nurses galore and the children could see their mother and all that but she is there for 14 days and they seem very firm that she won’t be doing anything until around Easter, which is a very long time to stay and I think that’s the most scary part of it.”
“She’s very, very thin. But she works so hard and I think it’s really very concerning that she’s there.
“She’s not the sort of woman who wants to stay in a hospital.”

Levin then added that her devoted husband Prince William may be feeling a bit “lonely” but the “children will cheer him up.
She said: “I think it’s a very lonely feeling. And I think that he’s doing his best because he’s got children.
“I think children can cheer you up or something like that, and he’s got the responsibility of looking after them.
“For something like that, I think that he goes back to his mother when he became what she called the man of the house.”
She added: “But here, he’s a mature man and he will know that his priority is to look after his wife, who has been so wonderfully supportive to him.”
