Terland opened the scoring after just three minutes in Spain and along with Le Tissier used the opportunity to poke fun at Ilett, who is also known as The United Strand.

Manchester United’s women sit second in the Women’s Super League, are into the fifth round of the FA Cup and are in a strong position to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The last time their male counterparts won five in a row was between January and February 2024.

They are fourth in the Premier League and have been knocked out of the FA Cup and League Cup, and have no European football this season.
