The new boss of Santander UK will come into the office five days a week – breaking with his predecessor’s habit of working partly from home.
Mahesh Aditya, who is chief risk officer at Spanish parent Santander Group, was yesterday named as the successor to UK boss Mike Regnier. He will take over on March 1.
The appointment comes as the lender presses ahead with branch closures and prepares to integrate smaller rival TSB, which it bought for £2.65billion last year.
Change at the top: Mahesh Aditya has been named as the successor to UK boss Mike Regnier
Regnier has said he spends one or two days a week working remotely from Yorkshire. Santander requires its office-based staff to come in only 12 days a month.
‘Mahesh works five days a week in the office and will continue that pattern as UK CEO,’ a spokesman said.
