The transfer window is open and here are today’s developments from Daily Mail Sport’s Simon Jones – including the latest on wantaway Crystal Palace star Jean-Philippe Mateta and Fulham’s pursuit of Man City’s Oscar Bobb. For all of yesterday’s updates – and more on Harry Kane’s contract talks at Bayern Munich, click here.

Brighton and Palace in for England U21 star Cresswell

Brighton, Crystal Palace and Wolfsburg have all asked about Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell.

The England U21 international has seen two bids from Wolfsburg rejected as reported by Daily Mail Sport earlier this month. Leeds also hold a sell-on clause.

Liverpool keeper ponders LMS move

Liverpool goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek is in talks to join MLS side FC Cincinnati on loan in a deal that could become permanent.

The move includes an option to buy for FC Cincinnati, whose season begins next month.

The 22-year-old from Poland spent the second half of last season on loan at Forest Green Rovers and previously had a spell in Sweden with IF Brommapojkarna.

Tottenham ask about Wolves keeper Johnstone

Tottenham are showing interest in Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Spurs have asked amid interest from West Ham for Antonin Kinsky.

The 32-year-old former England international has made 14 appearances this season.

Ward-Prowse set for Burnley loan

James Ward-Prowse is heading to Burnley from West Ham after being given permission to undergo a medical ahead of a loan move.

The midfielder was back in the West Ham squad last weekend and Burnley had begun looking at other options just in case but Scott Parker is closing on getting the 31-year old into his squad.

Ward-Prowse has featured in just five league games for the Hammers so far this season.

Gomes joins Phillips on Wolves radar

Wolves have asked about England international midfielder Angel Gomes who has been out of the starting line up at Marseille. Wolves are exploring midfield options for loan and have discussed Manchester City Kalvin Phillips too.

Coady in talks to aid Addicks survival bid

Wrexham defender Conor Coady is in talks to join Charlton on loan.

The 32-year-old has not figured of late and is eager for more game time.

No wonder Villa want Luiz with midfield injury crisis

Douglas Luiz is closing in on a return to Aston Villa with terms being finalised now – a move trailed by Daily Mail Sport last week – and that is looking even more important with a lengthening injury list.

Villa are assessing Youri Tielemans’ ankle, have John McGinn out for six weeks and Boubacar Kamara out for the season. Ross Barkley is edging towards fitness but there is a need for experience and bodies to maintain a title push.

Brazilian Luiz has been on loan at Forest from Juventus, having moved to Italy in 2024 after five years at Villa Park. Chelsea enquired last week.

Villa sent a delegation to Milan to discuss a deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek too last Wednesday – read more on that move below. They have other names under consideration also.

Forest rebuffed in approach for Dunk

Brighton have turned down Nottingham Forest’s opening enquiry for defender Lewis Dunk – who is a target for Forest boss Sean Dyche despite signing a new deal with the Seagulls only last month.

The centre-back agreed a one-year extension with the Seagulls in December but is now in the sights of Forest – as was first reported by Daily Mail Sport in November.

Dyche wants a proven Premier League defender to complement Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo and Dunk, 34, is top of his list.

Hammers closing in on Traore… and now turn to Kinsky

West Ham are closing on Adama Traore’s signing from Fulham – he is having a medical today – and are continuing talks with Tottenham over a loan for goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.

Spurs are waiting to determine their qualification for the Champions League knockout stages before progressing with further transfer activity.

Clarets defender eyes loan switch

Burnley defender Oliver Sonne is in talks to join Czech Republic side Sparta Prague on loan until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old right-back, who is from Denmark but represents Peru owing to his grandmother, has made ten appearances this season and scored twice. He also had interest from FC Copenhagen.

Forest will cancel Zinchenko loan

Tom Collomosse reports: Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to have his loan deal with Nottingham Forest cancelled within the next 24 hours. The Arsenal defender has had an unhappy first half of the season at the City Ground and has been told he can leave, amid interest from Ajax.

Liverpool’s Koumas eyed by Hull

Liverpool forward Lewis Koumas is a target for Hull City on loan.

The Championship promotion chasers hope to confirm the arrival of Toby Collyer on loan from Manchester United tomorrow and because they are working under embargo, need another departure before moving to complete a deal for Koumas.

Former Manchester United defender Paddy McNair is also poised to join on loan from San Diego.

Koumas, who has followed his father Jason in becoming a Wales international, was recalled by Liverpool from his spell at Birmingham City on Monday. Swansea had also shown interest in Koumas.

The 20-year-old has picked up good experience at Championship level with over 70 appearances racked up during his spells at Stoke and now Birmingham. He has ambitions to go to the World Cup with Wales, should they win their play-off in March.

Fulham’s £28m target on way back after fractured arm

Fulham target PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi has started a fitness programme following surgery on a fractured arm. Fulham offered £28million at the end of last week and remain in talks to sign the USA international. After being ruled out for eight weeks, there is hope he could return in half that time.

Fulham remain intent on adding 22-year-old plus Oscar Bobb from Manchester City. Their initial offer for Bobb was knocked back but again talks are ongoing. Fulham’s Adama Traore, meanwhile, is also expected to join West Ham in a £2m dea

Midfielder Neil is in at Ipswich

Ipswich Town have confirmed the loan signing of Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old captained Sunderland to promotion last season but has not started a Premier League game this season.

Manager Kieran McKenna said: ‘We’re happy to add Dan to the group. He’s a versatile midfielder who can play in a couple of different roles. He’s a player with good experience, good pedigree and good character who I’m sure will be a strong addition for us for the rest of the season.’

Palace hold firm on £40m for Mateta

Jean-Philippe Mateta is determined to leave Crystal Palace after Nottingham Forest followed up their weekend enquiry with a £35m offer.

Palace are demanding £40m for Mateta who also has AC Milan showing interest. Forest are also offering a significant pay rise.

Palace want to line up a replacement such as Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen but have yet to bid. Leeds have also yet to improve on their offer after having £33m plus add-ons rejected for Larsen last week.

Juve eye up Premier League misfits

Juventus have been rebuffed in a request to take Randal Kolo Muani on loan. The Frenchman is on loan at Spurs from Paris Saint Germain.

Juventus are also interested in Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee.

Roma hunt for a left-back ahead of Tsimikas’ Anfield return

Wolves have rejected an initial £6.9m offer from Roma for left-back David Moller Wolfe.

Roma are looking for options so they can send Kostas Tsimikas back to Liverpool but Wolves have no interest in selling Wolfe as it stands.

Liverpool defender Wellity Lucky has been ruled out for at least two months with a hamstring injury. The Anfield club have an increasing defensive injury list but have confirmed 17-year-old centre-back Ifeanyi Ndukwe is to join from Austria Vienna for their U21s.

Tammy closes in on Villa move

Besiktas have paid £11.2m to Roma for Tammy Abraham, as the Turkish club prepare to sell him to Aston Villa.

The striker had a medical on Saturday having travelled to the UK on Friday after Villa agreed an £18m fee with the Turkish side.

Besiktas had an obligation to buy in the loan deal which took Abraham from Roma last summer.
