As CEO of one of the biggest fast food chains in the world, Chris Kempczinski sees a lot of burgers, fries and planes.

The American is the president and chief executive officer of McDonald’s, which has around 45,000 branches across over 100 countries.

Naturally, Chris would want to keep tabs on how things are running at the various golden-arch restaurants and in a recent Instagram video, says he has ‘got to visit them’.

After taking countless flights to the different venues, the businessman has collected plenty of tips for travelling and has shared his top three hacks.

His number one tip is to adjust to the time differences quickly to be able to get on with your trip smoothly.

‘The first is get on the new time zone as soon as possible. You just got to dive all in, get on the new time zone,’ he says.

Refreshing your body after a long flight is another good way to help recover and reset.

Chris recommends working out and finding a gym as soon as you get there.

Burgers, fries and planes are common sights for McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski who shared his top travelling tips

He explains, ‘Second, I would tell you: workout. There’s nothing like exercise to kind of get the body reset.

‘Go to the gym, figure out when you can do that.’

Sleep is also important when travelling, and Chris says the key to a good kip is being mindful of your alcohol consumption.

He adds, ‘The third is be careful about how much alcohol you’re drinking – on the plane over, and when you’re there. It’s not great for sleep.’

Instead of relaxing by having a tipple on the plane, Chris urges people to ‘power through’.

He says, ‘It’s tough, but your body will do the right thing. If your body needs to sleep, it will go to sleep. The key is don’t fight it.’

Many appreciated the tips and took to the comments to share their own McDonald’s-related travel hacks.

One penned: ‘I’ve travelled a lot for work outside of major cities so less dining options .. top tip is clearly work out where the nearest McDonalds is to your hotel.

‘McDs is usually open later, consistent food everywhere and high hygiene standards.’

‘Go to McDonald’s in Nice, France for breakfast and eat it on the promenade watching sunrise by the sea!! It’s the best!’ another shared.

Meanwhile, someone else quipped a tip about the McRib, a popular sandwich offered by McDonald’s temporarily.

They said: ‘Fourth tip. Figure out when the McRib is in season where you’re traveling and choose trips during those times.’
