Semenyo’s special start
We simply have to talk about Antoine Semenyo, don’t we?
Normally, even when players are already shining for smaller Premier League clubs, they usually struggle to hit the ground running at Manchester City.
Good examples of this are the likes of John Stones and Matheus Nunes. Yes, I’m sure there are better examples out there, but they are just the first pair that came to my head
They may be settled in now, but their starts at the club were pretty bad.
So, even though Semenyo balled out for Bournemouth during the first half of the season, I thought he might take a while to bed in at City.
But nope, how wrong was I?
He should have had two goals, if it weren’t for VAR, but the one will do, and he won Man of the Match. The best player on the pitch by a mile, he looks so at home in a City shirt.
Two goals in two matches, what a start to his Cityzens career.
