Tesla has unveiled a bold new trim for its popular Model Y electric vehicle, with British drivers able to purchase the best-selling SUV in the coming months.
The Elon Musk-led brand has produced over 3.5 million Model Y units over the last five years at Gigafactories across three continents.
To meet driver demand, Tesla has introduced a new trim for the Model Y including “extensive reengineering” and a complete redesign of the interior and exterior.
The headline change between the new and old Model Y designs is the front and rear lightbars which replace the traditional headlights and give a nod to the Cybertruck and Cybercab.

The rear lightbar spans across the vehicle, making it one of the largest lightbars on the market, as well as a “world-first production application of an indirect, externally reflected lighting system”.
The exterior redesign will also have a notable impact on the car by reducing drag, which can boost range alongside new wheels with improved aerodynamics and low-resistance tyres.
The current Model Y has a range of between 319 miles for the Performance All-Wheel Drive and 373 miles for the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive.
Motorists will be impressed with the new limited-release Model Y which features a battery range of 353 miles, a top speed of 125mph and a 4.1-second benchmark from 0-60mph.

The New Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive will set drivers back £60,990 when deliveries begin in May as a limited release.
This is £9,000 more expensive than the older design (£51,990) and £14,000 pricier than the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive which costs £46,990.
Drivers looking to get their hands on the all-new Model Y through a PCP contract can expect to pay £898 per month, £875 per month for a Personal Contract Hire or £1,022 monthly for a Hire Purchase.
Other notable changes in the Model Y redesign include new glass to reflect more solar energy, two new touchscreens for the second row of passengers and increased connectivity.
Tesla also plans to launch additional new Model Y trims in the future to retain its foothold as the best-selling electric vehicle in the UK.
The new Model Y will be on display in London, Manchester and Dublin, starting on Friday, January 31, alongside a range of other European cities.
The Model Y is a record-breaker becoming the first-ever electric vehicle to top the global best-selling vehicle list across all powertrains and energy types in 2023.
It also became the best-selling vehicle of any kind in Europe in the same year. The Model Y has been produced at the state-of-the-art Berlin-Brandenurg Gigafactory since 2022.
