A Jet2 flight bound for Rome was forced to make an emergency landing at London Stansted Airport this morning after pilots reported concerns over fuel levels.
The aircraft diverted to Stansted when a fuel gauge showed “levels way lower than expected,” according to passengers on board.
The flight, which originated from Glasgow Airport, landed safely at approximately 9am after declaring a mid-air emergency.
A fire truck inspected the aircraft upon landing, with no signs of fuel leakage detected.

The flight, designated LS135, departed Glasgow at 7.07am for what was meant to be a routine journey to the Italian capital.
Approximately one hour and 30 minutes into the flight, the crew issued a 7700 squawk alert, signalling an onboard emergency.
The Boeing 737-800 was flying over Paris when pilots made the decision to turn back.
Rather than returning to Scotland, the aircraft diverted to London Stansted, where it touched down at around 9am.

A passenger on board told the Scottish Sun that after landing, they remained on the runway while officials assessed the situation.
“Fire truck checked us out when we landed and no sign of any leaking fuel,” the passenger said.
The traveller added that the captain informed passengers there was another aircraft available at Stansted.
According to the passenger, the crew were planning to transfer customers to the replacement plane to continue their journey to Rome.
The diversion came after flight instruments indicated fuel levels that were “way lower than expected,” the passenger explained.

Jet2 sent text messages to affected passengers, stating: “We are sorry that due to unforeseen operational reasons your flight has diverted to London Stansted.”
The message continued: “We are doing everything we can to have you on your way as soon as possible.”
A Jet2 spokesman later confirmed the incident in an official statement.
“We can confirm that flight LS135 from Glasgow to Rome followed standard operating procedure and diverted to London Stansted this morning, due to a minor fault indication,” they said.
The spokesman added: “The aircraft landed safely, and customers will be transferred onto a replacement aircraft to continue their journey.”
