The court heard that, on the day of the attack, Mr Issa had met a friend to go to the gym.
They were travelling along Princess Road towards the city centre when they noticed a white car driving next to them and trying to get their attention.
Raami Mohamed, 22, who was driving the white vehicle, gestured for Mr Issa’s friend to pull over and both cars turned onto Moss Lane East and parked in the bus layby.
Mr Issa’s friend got out of the car, but was confronted by Mohamed, who appeared agitated and aggressive.
Mr Issa got out of the car to try to de-escalate the situation.
He was stabbed in the process and died in hospital later that evening.
The men continued a violent assault on Mr Issa’s friend.
