Ariana Grande flashed her hand ‘prison’ tattoos when she covered her face on Tuesday evening.
They are called ‘prison’ tattoos because they are numerous, small, uneven and appear homemade like what prisoners can create behind bars with limited tools.
The crooner was at the Golden Globes first-time nominee celebration held at the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills when she flashed her impressive ink.
The 31-year-old star had several markings all over her fingers and the back of her hand that went down her wrists.
Some markings had to do with her recent film, the musical Wicked with costar Cynthia Erivo. One is a large illustration of Glinda from the original Wicked.
Other marks are for the men she has romanced: Mac Miller, Pete Davidson and Dalton Gomez.
Grande currently has over 70 tattoos all over her body. The silver screen dynamo got her first inking in 2012 when she was 18.

Her hand tattoos are many and varied.
She got tattoos on her ring fingers in 2015 when on her The Honeymoon Tour.
There is also a small Hebrew phrase on the side of her right ring finger. It is the tenth name in the 72 names of God which is spelled with the Hebrew letters aleph, lamed, and daled. The name ‘protects from the evil eye and bad dreams, and helps the rebirthing process.’ This tattoo is a reference to Ariana’s faith which is Kabbalah.
In 2015 she got a small outline of a heart on her right ring finger.
In 2016, Ariana got a tattoo on the inside of her finger which says ‘babydoll’ in capital letters. This is a nickname her Nonna uses for her.
That same year she revealed a small black outline of the female gender symbol on her left middle finger. She got this tattoo with her late boyfriend, Mac Miller.
Also in 2016, Ariana got a tattoo of the letter A. Ariana explained on her Instagram and Snapchat that it was in reference to the first initial of longtime best friend, Alexa Luria.
In, 2017, she got a tattoo of a bee as a nod to the victims of the suicide bomber attack in Manchester during Ariana’s Dangerous Woman Tour concert.
In 2018, she showed off her hand tattoo ‘Lumos’. Lumos is a spell from Harry Potter and means ‘light’ in Latin. It might also have to do with The Light Is Coming from her fourth studio album Sweetener (album).
Ariana also has a cloud tattoo on her finger that she had done in May 2018. It matched that mark her fiance at the time Pete Davidson had.
On the right side of her hand she got ‘H2GKMO’, an abbreviation of ‘honest to god knock me out’ in 2018.
It matched the one Davidson had. There is a ‘reborn’ tattoo after she split from Davidson; it is located on the side of her left hand.
In the same photo, a tattoo that reads ‘561’ can be seen on her left thumb. 561 is the area code for Boca Raton, Florida, the town in which Ariana was born and lived during her childhood.

In 2019, Ariana flashed a tat on her left palm, ‘七輪’, which is Japanese and translates to ‘Shichirin’, a small Japanese grill.
Ariana wanted the tattoo to say ‘seven rings’, in reference to her song ‘7 Rings’ from Thank U, Next but it was too painful, so she left out three characters.
She had it fixed by changing it to ‘七輪指♡’, which roughly translates to ‘seven rings (that you wear on your fingers)’.
In June 2019, she had a new vine on her right index finger. It coves her ‘9 3/4’ tattoo.

Two branches of leaves can be seen on her left wrist. It covers half of her second arrow dots tattoo. Ariana’s right index finger also has ‘SWT’, the initials of her Sweetener World Tour.
In April 2020, she showed the word ‘Cinderelly’ on the side of her left index finger, a tribute to Miller, who had made the song ‘Cinderella’ in honor of her.
