Prince Louis broke a royal tradition in his latest public appearance as the royal marked a major milestone for the family.
GB News Royal editor Svar Nanan-sen has previously claimed that the young royal often “steals the show” during engagements with his “cheeky” behaviour.
Louis made his last official royal appearance on December 6 at Princess Kate’s Together at Christmas carol concert, where he was joined by his two siblings and other Royal Family members.
The fourth in line to the throne wore a full black suit, something the royal hadn’t worn before at an official engagement.

Traditionally, young male royals are dressed in shorts rather than long trousers, as the shorter fit is deemed more age-appropriate.
Prince George, the oldest of the three Wales children, first donned a full suit for the first time when he attended the Euro 2020 final in London. Prince Louis has been allowed to do so a year earlier than his elder brother.
Protocol expert and etiquette coach William Hanson has previously explained to Hello the reason behind the short trouser royal tradition.
He said: “Today, young boys usually transition into trousers around age seven.

He added: “Prince George is always seen in shorts because upper-class and upper-middle-class parents believe that little boys should look like little boys, and so try to keep their offspring looking as cute and innocent for as long as possible.”
“It’s one of the many silent class indicators we have in Britain.
“Trousers on young boys is considered a tad suburban and lower market.”
Prince Louis wore full-length trousers for the Christmas carol service in 2023, but instead of a full suit, he donned a double-breasted coat and a checked shirt beneath.

Following the end of the school term, the family of five are believed to have travelled to their ten-bedroom Georgian residence, Anmer Hall, situated on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, for Christmas.
They are expected to accompany King Charles and Queen Camilla on Christmas Day’s annual tradition of walking to St Mary Magdalene Church, located on the grounds.
