Meghan Markle’s failure to join Prince Harry in Canada for the 2025 Invictus Games would “indicate a form of separation” between the couple, a royal commentator has claimed.
The couple have pivoted to solo public appearances rather than joint engagements over the last few months.
Earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex undertook engagements linked to the upcoming Invictus Games in Vancouver on his own, with Meghan’s absence unusual.
The Duchess of Sussex has accompanied Prince Harry to Invictus Games events since 2017 onwards and joined her husband in Vancouver in February 2024 for a previous promotional event.

The couple stepped out at Invictus events in February across several days in Canada in what was seen as a preview of the first-ever winter edition of the sporting competition.
In addition to attending the earlier preview event in Canada, Meghan has joined Harry at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands and Germany in recent years.
She is expected to accompany Harry in February at the Vancouver games, with the couple reportedly weighing up bringing their son Prince Archie with them.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News that speculation regarding the couple would soar if the Duchess of Sussex opts against joining her husband in Canada.

Fitzwilliams said: “I can say with absolute certainty that they will be there as a couple.
“They have a history of being there together and if she did not, it would indicate some form of separation.”
He added: “This is obviously a new tactic. As in every brand the Sussexes want to promote their brand as best as they can.
“They have tried something that has worked with the so-called royal tours of Nigeria and Colombia.

“Then we have got the solo engagements, so they are experimenting.
“The Sussexes need to keep their profile as they can’t attack the Royal Family at the moment, so now they have to think up new devices.
He added: “There is no question that when it comes to Invictus and the personal touch, this does work, it definitely works with Harry.
“Clearly, they are finding that going solo works well at the moment.”
