Broadcaster Lauren Laverne has revealed she is cancer free in a joyous Instagram post.
The 46-year-old also confirmed she will be back on screens as early as this Tuesday for the BBC’s One Show.
In August, the mother-of-two told fans she had been diagnosed after an unspecified cancer was “unexpectedly” detected during a routine screening test.
However, Laverne shared the good news on Sunday, posting a beaming selfie while wearing a blue ‘Life is Beautiful’ jumper.
Along with the selfie, she wrote: “Well hello there! Just a quick update from me to say that after taking some time off to get better I’ve had the all clear.”
She also revealed she: “Will be back to work on your TV this Tuesday with the wonderful @bbctheoneshow team.”
As for her other broadcasting projects, the 46-year-old confirmed earlier reports she is working on new Desert Island Discs episodes for December and will be returning to Radio 6 Music in the New Year.
In her post, Laverne paid tribute to the “brilliant medical teams who took such great care of me”.
She also thanked: “The thousands of people who sent me such beautiful and encouraging messages, the friends and acquaintances who took the time to support me after going through cancer themselves.”
The broadcaster saved her biggest thanks for: “My two astounding kids and especially my husband Graeme, who was absolutely extraordinary throughout.”
Laverne admitted her cancer battle was a “difficult time” for her and the her family.
However, she added it also: “Taught me so much about what really matters.”
“I now see more beauty in ordinary things than I could have imagined, and feel more than ever that the small things in life,” the 46-year-old explained.
Continuing, she added that she now values “the connections we make and care we take with each other” most in life.
Laverne wished the best to anyone else who is undergoing: “Cancer treatment or supporting a loved one through it.”
“I have so much to be grateful for and excited about… See you soon and thanks again for the well wishes,” she concluded.
