Dan Fells, a property expert at Fells New Forest Property, told GB News that mature maples can boost property value by a substantial amount.
The property specialist explained: “A fully-grown maple tree can certainly enhance property value by adding visual appeal, shade, privacy and seasonal colour.

“Mature trees like maples typically increase property value by five per cent to 15 per cent, as they add character and an established feel that buyers find attractive.”
The trees, which are prized for their aesthetic appeal, are just one of several outdoor additions that can enhance property values.
Dan added: “Other valuable garden additions include outdoor seating areas to extend the living space, well-maintained lawns with perennial plant beds for a polished, low-maintenance look, and privacy features such as fences or hedges.
“Adding ambient lighting for evening use and tranquil water features can further enhance appeal, potentially increasing the property’s sale price.”

Privacy features like fences and hedges are valuable additions to any garden, as are outbuildings.
Dan added: “Outbuildings have also become increasingly popular, serving as home offices, game rooms, or even ancillary accommodation, providing flexible, functional spaces that are highly desirable.”
Property experts at Green Retreats have previously reported that the trending household upgrade could boost the value of your home by 15 per cent.

Garden rooms were reportedly one of the makeover trends last year and have continued to be in 2024.
It highlighted that the standalone structures are major assets because they can have purposes including a home office or gym.
“Garden rooms are usually notably cheaper than traditional extension in terms of construction cost,” according to Design for Me.
This was confirmed by property experts at Green Retreats, who claimed the space-creating solution also significantly increases the values of homes.
