Former NFL offensive lineman Gabe Ikard has revealed that his wife, Caroline, suffered a miscarriage on Wednesday evening.
Ikard detailed the traumatic time for his family losing their unborn daughter on social media with the caption ‘We love you so much baby girl. We’ll see you one day,’ with a heart and broken-heart emojis.
Ikard was a three-time All-American center at Oklahoma before bouncing around with several NFL teams for five seasons.
‘My wife was experiencing abdominal pain late last night and went to the (emergency room),’ Ikard posted on X. ‘Thankfully, her vitals were good and she’s fine… but the doctors couldn’t find our baby girl’s heartbeat.’
‘We lost her. We’re devastated. Please pray for her. We’ll always wonder what she was going to be like and we’ll miss her every day. we just hope she knows how much we love her.’
‘We’re struggling to understand to understand why this happened but believe God just needed her now.’

Gabe and Caroline already have two sons, Cam and Eli.

Ikard made the 53-man rosters for the Bills, Lions and Browns during his NFL career.
