Married at First Sight fans said it was “heartbreaking” watching Kristina and Kieran’s emotional reunion.
The pair were fan favourites on the Channel 4 show, with viewers rooting for them after they hit it off as soon as they met at the altar. Although they ended up splitting and leaving the experiment in moving scenes, they always made it clear how much they cared about each other.
But both ended up in tears during the reunion episode as they discussed their break-up, and the drama escalated when Kieran revealed that he had dated someone new.
What, how and why?
The episode on Thursday, 14 November saw the couples reunite to reflect on their marriages and reveal who was still together. Kieran and Kristina were both upset as they watched clips from their time on the show.
One of the moments shown was of them making the decision to leave the experiment. “I just don’t know how much I have got left in us for the amount of emotional support that Kristina needs,” Kieran said of Kristina, who has been open about suffering with Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which the NHS says can cause women to experience more severe symptoms of PMS.
After they watched the video both were in tears, as were many of their fellow Married at First Sight stars. “Me and Kristina both came into this for the right reasons and it hasn’t worked, which is really sad,” Kieran said, his voice wobbling. “And I am forever sorry that it hasn’t worked.”
“I never meant to hurt you,” he added.
It was also revealed that Kieran had dated someone else after he left the show. Asked how she took it, Kristina admitted: “Yeah not well.”
“Hearing that just be so casually, yeah I’ve been dating someone, it made me wonder how much did it mean to Kieran because it meant the absolute f****** world to me,” she said.
But he insisted: “So far the best four weeks of my life was with you… and I am really really pleased that it was you at the end of the aisle.”

The pair talked their relationship through with the show’s dating experts and agreed that the best way for them to move forwards was as friends. Kristina then invited Kieran to go to a festival with her, and he said yes.
What did viewers say?
Fans were moved watching the pair, with many noting on X that they genuinely seemed to care about each other.
“Heartbreaking watching Kristina,” one viewer posted. “I’m just so sad for Kieran and Kristina,” said someone else.
“Oh Kristina you’re breaking my heart babe,” somebody else said. “Kristina and Kieran not working out is the worst thing to of happened on this show,” another fan remarked.
One viewer admitted it had them in tears. “Brb crying at Kieran and Kristina,” they posted. “They were so beautiful together. I honestly think Kieran isn’t malicious at all! I don’t think that he’s a bad person in the slightest. It just wasn’t his romantic person. I hope they stay friends.”
“Kieran and Kristina are hard to watch together,” posted another viewer. “I really feel for her.”
