Several popular spice brands are recalling products containing mustard due to the potential presence of undeclared peanuts.
This precautionary measure has been taken as the unlisted ingredient poses a significant health risk to individuals with peanut allergies.
The two latest products to be affected by the recall are:
SpiceGirl1969 Berbere
- Pack size: 25g, 50g, 100g, 200g
- Batch code: All batch codes
- Best before: All best before dates
WheyHey Singapore Noodles
- Pack size: 450g
- Best before: 13 February 2025 08 November 2025
The food recall was announced by the FSA

The Food Standards Agency said: “Several brands are taking the precautionary step of recalling several spice products that contain mustard.
“They may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.”
The affected items are sold under various brand names across multiple retail stores.
The companies involved have taken several precautionary measures by displaying point-of-sale notices where the products were sold, explaining the reason for the recall and providing instructions to customers.
These notices inform consumers about the potential peanut contamination and advise them on what to do if they have purchased the affected items.
Customers who have bought the affected products have been urged not to eat them and, instead, return the items to the store where they were bought for a full refund.
“If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat them,” said the FSA.
“Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”

The FSA issues Allergy Alerts when there is a food allergy risk due to missing or incorrect labelling. These alerts play a crucial role in ensuring food safety for allergy sufferers.
The latest alert comes as 22 foods have been recalled as they could contain ingredients not listed, including a curry sold in Sainsbury’s.
The retailer said in a statement: “Merchant Gourmet is taking the precautionary step of recalling the above date codes of 250g pouches of Black Dhal with Black Lentils & Coconut Cream sold in stores across the UK. The decision has been taken due to the potential cross-contamination of peanuts in the mustard seed.”
Other products were also included as part of the same recall as they can be bought online or in small stores across the UK.
