Dame Joan Collins quickly shut down a suggestion made by The One Show presenter Alex Jones as she attempted to encourage her to see Taylor Swift live.
The legendary icon appeared on Friday’s edition of the popular evening show with hosts Alex and Roman Kemp at the helm. Sharing snippets of her extraordinary life on the famous red sofa, Joan left everyone in the studio awestruck including guests Adeel Akhtar and Chesney Hawkes.
But when asked which famous person would be considered a modern-day icon, Joan was quick to praise singer Taylor. She admitted: “Taylor Swift is a great example to young people! I like the way she dresses, I like her attitude towards life and I suppose she’s an icon. But I’ve never seen her.”
Alex chimed in and said: “Oh! You must go, you’ll have a great time.”

But Joan appeared to put a stop to the hints and asked: “Where? Where am I gonna go? Do you think I’m gonna go to one of those arenas, sorry!” She apologised before laughing it off.
Finding the funny side to Joan’s remarks, Alex said Taylor would be happy to fly to her personally to perform. Roman also backed up his co-host and agreed.
As well as Joan’s personal stories, fans at home were impressed with how well the 91-year-old star looked. Heading over to X formerly known as Twitter, viewers were swooning.
One spectator wrote: “Ninety-one. Ninety flamin’ one! Joan Collins is a legend. Still switched on and very interesting. What a life she’s led. The positive side of living to a ripe old age.”
Another penned: “Yes Joan. You’re amazing. Class and elegance.”
A third viewer gushed: “Joan always looks amazing! Always beautifully dressed.” A fourth added: “Joan Collins is 91? She looks amazing!”
English actress Joan is famously known for her iconic roles in soap opera Dynasty. She played the role of vengeful schemer Alexis Carrington Colby from 1981-1989.
In 1997, she was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to drama. As well as this, she is also the recipient of several accolades, including a Golden Globe Award, a People’s Choice Award, two Soap Opera Digest Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
