Norfolk Police have revealed “some indications” as to why mother-of-three Gaynor Lord left work early.
The missing 55-year-old was last seen approaching St Augustines Street at 4.01pm on Friday.
Chief Superintendent Dave Buckley said: “We’ve got some indications as to why she behaved the way in which she did but what we’re doing is we’re just working backwards now to actually truly understand what may have taken place.
“We’re just cautious of everything we know at the moment because clearly, we’ve ended up in the situation we have which is not usual.
“I don’t think any of the conversations we’ve had are completely informing us as to why her state of mind ended up being what it was.”
Buckley also confirmed no marks were left on the grass by the river.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Officers from Norfolk Constabulary have also been searching an area of wasteland.
Lord was said to have tried to phone a friend twice on Friday afternoon at 2.15pm and 4.15pm.
However, the second call is thought to have been a pocket dial.
A witness in the park also claimed she saw a woman matching Lord’s description in a “yoga pose” at about 4pm and she seemed “calm”.
